Benjamin Védrines smashes Mont Blanc ascent record

Benjamin Védrines pulvérise le record d'ascension du Mont-Blanc

Previously held by Kilian Jornet, Benjamin Védrines set a new speed record for the ascent and descent of Mont Blanc. Starting from the church in Chamonix, he reached the summit at 4,809 meters and returned to his starting point in just 4 hours, 54 minutes and 41 seconds on May 24, 2025 , beating Kilian Jornet's previous record set in 2013 by 3 minutes .
We are very proud to have Benjamin on the COOKNRUN team!

“I am proud and happy to have set a new benchmark time on the roof of Europe, there and back from the church, on skis (...) between broken ankles, frozen eyes and broken poles, there is something to tell!”

His exploits and records are countless. His vision and the trajectory he has forged in the world of mountaineering are unparalleled.

This new record on Mont Blanc confirms Benjamin Védrines' place among the fastest and most daring mountaineers of his generation. His approach, which combines performance, commitment, and respect for the mountains, inspires a new generation of mountaineers to look at the mountains with fresh eyes, while valuing the beauty and difficulty of major Alpine routes.
