Hello Guillaume! To begin, can you introduce yourself?

Hi !
My name is Guillaume Poinsot, I am 22 years old, I live in Isère, very close to Lyon, and I work at Cycling
Bourgoin-Jallieu , a store specializing in bicycles.

What sport do you play? And for how long?

My father passed on his passion for cycling to me from a very young age. I then competed in XCO mountain biking for six years, with some great performances in my last seasons, especially in 2022 in my category.
After a more difficult 2023, I decided to take on a new challenge in 2024: discovering ultra-distance running. The objective was clear: to step out of my comfort zone, test my limits and rediscover myself through a completely different format.

Aside from sports, what motivates you?

Outside of sports, what truly motivates me is everything related to well-being and personal development. I like to take care of myself, both physically and mentally: through diet, recovery, sleep... I live a bit like a monk. 😅
I have this constant desire to evolve, to learn to know myself better.
And I am also lucky to work in an environment that suits me: a bike shop, in contact with passionate people, where I feel at home, fulfilled and useful on a daily basis.

Can you share with us some highlights from your sporting career?

My main achievements in recent years are:
  • Victory in the overall standings of the 2022 French Mountain Bike XCO Cups in the open junior category
  • Winner of the Gravelman Tour du Mont Blanc 350 km 2024
  • 5th in “THE TRAKA” 560 km 2025 (International Gravel Race)
  • Victory GRAALPS 2025 900 km/ 18,000m D+ Gravel

What is your best performance or your most memorable sporting moment?

2022 was an emotionally charged year. After numerous physical problems, it was the year in which I performed best in XCO mountain biking, and in which I truly realized the impact of mental strength on performance by winning the overall classification of the French Cup in the open junior category.

2025 is just as incredible, on a different format, I manage to perform while having maximum fun in big races.

What is the most wonderful encounter that sport has offered you?

Of course, there were many: people with good values, strangers who give you energy on long races, and inspiring personalities who mark your journey.
It's a real school of life.

…And your best day?

Every day is a beautiful day: we are lucky to be here, so I make the most of the present moment. Whether it's moments with family or on my bike, there are countless ones.

Why did you agree to join the COOKNRUN team?

I joined the COOKNRUN team because I fully share its values: authenticity, passion for outdoor sport, and respect for the body through natural and effective nutrition.
As an ultra-cyclist, I'm constantly looking for products that allow me to perform without compromising my health. COOKNRUN ticks all the boxes: clean products, designed for athletes, with a genuine ethical approach behind them.

What do you like about COOKNRUN?

What I like about COOKNRUN is their authentic taste, their strong values, their spirit of adventure; these are values that inspire me and that I share.

Do you have a favorite product in the range? Why that one?

As a big fan of peanut butter, I really fell in love with the peanut butter Energy bar from the COOKNRUN range: an irresistible taste and perfect energy for my outings.

How would you describe your partnership with COOKNRUN in a few words?

A sincere and spontaneous partnership, combining pleasure and performance, which motivates me to always give my best.

What are your next goals or projects?

Based on my results this year, I now aim to target top positions in even longer and renowned events that are among the most demanding in the world, both physically and mentally.

For next season, three major events will structure my program:
  • The Atlas Mountain Race (February 2026): A 1350 km mountain bike race with 25,000 m of elevation gain through the rugged landscapes of the Moroccan Atlas Mountains, in complete self-sufficiency. It is one of the toughest races in the world in this discipline.
  • The Traka (early May): a 560km gravel race with 10,000m of elevation gain in Spain.
  • The Transcontinental Race : an iconic road race of approximately 5000 km across Europe. Each participant charts their own route, passing through five mandatory checkpoints, with the aim of reaching the finish line in total autonomy and as quickly as possible.

What can we wish for you in the future?

May 2026 be a year of enjoyment on my bike, and may I successfully achieve my three major goals for the season.

One last word?

"Win or go to the hospital" is not arrogance, it's just the expression of my state of mind: give it my all, whatever the cost!
