Présentation : Alexis CHATENAY, co-fondateur de COOKNRUN.

I am Alexis, co-founder of COOKNRUN.

I have always worked in sports. Whether as a physical trainer , athletics coach or now in nutrition : I have always supported athletes in their projects.

I discovered tennis at 14. Roland Garros final 1998. On TV, I saw Alex Corretja playing and I was literally fascinated by his gestures. His one-handed backhand, his movements… I found an old racket in the barn and spent my summer hitting a ball against the wall of the house.
In September, I took my first lessons at a club, and six months later, I was helping teach with Henri (the coach). At 16, I was teaching tennis at five different clubs. I spent most of my time there. At the same time, I was discovering athletics and climbing.
I made athletics my career. I remember attending a lecture by Fred Aubert, who was the Stade Français's physical trainer at the time. I was completely absorbed by what he said: "Physical preparation is to performance what grammar is to poetry." I found in the study of training, physiology, and anatomy, answers to the complexity of what creates performance and self-improvement.
I passed my Brevet d'État in athletics right away and at 18, I was coaching athletes in all athletics disciplines. I was lucky enough to be accompanied by Philippe Leynier (a huge trainer in French athletics). He passed on to me his love of teaching and training young people, and alongside him on the field, I learned to observe.
To know how to look is to know how to see and analyze at the same time . Performance often comes from the right gesture. Luckily, the right gesture is often beautiful.

And then I stopped training for a while and left the field to train in naturopathy and micronutrition . In 2010, I launched my business "SANTE PERFORMANCE" : at the same time athletics teacher at the university, physical trainer at the National Center for Contemporary Dance and naturopath for amateur and professional athletes.

At 37, I've been working alongside athletes of all levels for over 20 years. I'm fascinated by each person's ability to commit to a practice and dedicate themselves to it 100%.
I believe that every athlete is an adventurer.
I feel good in this environment. The commitment, the decision-making, the risk-taking, the notion of effort beyond performance.

In "my" why of COOKNRUN, there's a bit of all of that. There's the deep motivation to contribute to the energy of a project, a challenge, or an expedition. To chart the most ethical course possible. Ultimately, the project of making artisanal and organic energy bars is quite simple: to bring meaning to what we eat, even and especially, to the heart of our practice.
Feeding adventurers is feeding the spirit of adventure.

When I suggested to Alexandre that we make energy bars like artisans, rolling up our sleeves, in contact with the products, searching for the best ingredients and inventing our recipes, there was the desire to create an adventure. This adventure today is certainly nourished by the many hours spent in stadiums, on athletics tracks, on tennis courts, on rocks and perhaps also in all the adventure stories that punctuate my library.

Because is the answer to all questions that begin with a why. My Because? It's a little bit of all of that in COOKNRUN.
